Beautiful Lace Sweetheart Fit and Flare Wedding Dress
I bought this dress from the Bridal Shoppe and wore it once for my wedding. I immediately fell in love with the shape, flow, and how it felt on my skin. The dress feels so light, flowy, airy, and silky soft on the skin. It is timeless and top quality.
My wedding was outdoors and the dress style went perfectly with that. I felt naturally beautiful in the dress and got many compliments. I could easily slip into it, walk around, sit down, and dance. I bustled it immediately after the ceremony so the bottom of the dress did not get damaged. During our dance, the dress had an amazing bounce to it (showing off the bustle). And it had so much flow and movement to the layers.
Sizing: Hugs my body without being tight. I wore it without a bra and it was on the looser side for me in the bust. It also fits me with a T-shirt-type bra (without push up). Listing measurements were taken with a thin shirt and pants and without a bra. Height with wedding shoes is 69 inches/ 5.75’. I wear sizes 0-4 in street clothes depending on the brand.
Details:
- Built-in bra cups.
- 4 layers: The innermost layer is silk, followed by a thin layer (chiffon-like), and the outermost layer is lace with flower patterns and a thin layer attached below the lace. There is a zipper in the back with pearl buttons that get closed.
- Shoulder straps - I never had to pull or adjust my dress with these.
- Bustle: 3 buttons in the innermost layer (hook up the middle one first then the two side ones) Next layer has 5 buttons, again find the middle one first then the two sides. The last lace layer also has 5 buttons (it helps to hold a hand under the lace and feel for the strings that loop over the buttons. I have a video from the bridal shop’s tailor on how to bustle it, which I can share.
Alterations: I bought the dress in size 10 and it was altered in the bust, waist, and length (1" in length). The hip remained the same. The owners at the bridal shop estimate it to be closest to a size 6 now. My tailor added 2 shoulder straps (these could be taken off for a strapless look) and buttons to the back layers for a bustle.
