Elegant Simple Clean Sleeveless Fit and Flare Wedding Dress with Open Back
"A classic wide strap scoop neckline bridal gown in Duchesse Satin with flattering natural waist and princess seams."
I fell in love with this dress because it looked elegant, timeless, yet chic. I have never felt more beautiful than when I wore this wedding gown. I tried on other wedding gowns at Oscar de la Renta, Amsale, and Bergdorf Goodman, but this gown was the one!
It was purchased and fitted at Monique's New York flagship store on Madison Avenue. I spent $7,275, all in + several hundred post-wedding to clean and preserve i
This is the most frequently asked question I get for the dress:
I purchased a size 6 dress. When you purchase a dress at ML, they take your measurements and then order you a size that is closest to your measurements, In my case, it was a 6, with the following measurements: B 34.5, UB 29, Waist 27, Hips 38. They then ship the dress to the ML store, where it is once again tailored, but this time while the bride is wearing it, so it fits like a glove. This dress was made to fit the bride to a tee. Unless we have the exact same body type, you should expect to tailor it for your specific body.
Bust: The boning in the dress is in there. It acts as built-in support, thus making a bra unnecessary. It keeps you Very tucked in. I personally needed some lift help, so I had pads temporarily installed on the inside, and then had them removed
Length: I'm a drop under 5'8, and I wore Loafer Randall's Natalia Pleaded Block Platform, with the front of the dress just grazing the floor.
Pricing and cleaning:
There are scuff marks on the very end of the train. I spent $7,275, all in + several hundred post-wedding to clean and preserve, the price I am selling the dress for, considers the scuff marks. If I were to buy this dress used, I would either try cleaning it again, or have 6"(?) taken off the back. The train will still be Very long. FWIW, I didn’t see the scuff marks when it was initially sent to me, so it might not be an issue. If the dress is bustled, it's unnoticeable. Again, the current price reflects the scuffs.
Alterations Styling: I had a stylist for my wedding, and we (along with the team at Monique), made a decision to keep the buttons just to the top of the back (above the tush!). You can easily remove the buttons without visible marking, or have a seamstress add them all the way down to the train.
Steaming: I told myself that I would steam the gown, and sure enough, I ran out of time! If you see a wrinkle in a photo, it's not the gown's fault! ;-). During the preservation process, they steamed the dress and got the wrinkles out.
Bustling: The bustle can be done two ways (over or under), I chose over, but it's up to you. I took several videos on how to bustle the dress with the team at Monique's HQ. I am happy to send you the videos if you purchase the dress. The bustle has color-coordinated threads (not visible to anyone), which makes it much easier to do.
I have kept the extra hanging threads, original gown bags, etc. so if you would like them, just let me kno
