Beautiful Strapless Mermaid Wedding Dress with 3D Applique and Beading
The most spectacular wedding dress! It is not heavy at all, therefore the bride can comfortably dance all night with this dress on. The dress is classic and elegant yet modern. It is a strapless ivory Chantilly lace mermaid wedding dress with a cascading snowflake lace appliqué detail by Oscar de la Renta. The wedding was featured in many fashion magazines including Vogue Wedding.
Inside each flower or snowflake appliqué, they've detailed it with a pearl bead that sparkles so beautifully. And throughout the French lace, they've added a bit of soft shimmer beads to give it a subtle sheen to the dress! So it sparkles in the light.
It says mermaid but it's more of a more A-line mermaid style. It has a softer transition. The details of this dress are absolutely beautiful. It's even more stunning in person!!! If you're interested I can send you more photos of the dress.
I was very fortunate to find this dress from a sample sale in 2020 and the dress was in pristine condition. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we postponed our wedding until 2022 early summer so I sent the gown for cleaning and the dress was kept in Foster-Stephens, Muslin Acid-Free Cotton Wedding Gown Garment bag.
Condition: I only wore the wedding gown for a total of less than hours (changed to a different dress for the reception) and the gown was professionally cleaned for preservation and it's been kept in the preservation box.
I originally wanted to keep the dress because I loved the dress very much but since we are living in an apartment in Manhattan thus limited closet space.
Sizing & Alterations: On the tag, it says size 10 but the salesperson said it's equal to street size 6. I am street size either 2 or 4, depending on the designers. My height is 5'-4 1/4" and around the wedding, my weight was 117 lb, bra size 32B, waist 25 1/2" and 37" for the hip, I wore 4 1/4" high heels with the gown so the bottom of the gown grazes the floor. So this dress total length will be good for 5'-8" to 5'-9" height incl. shoes. For the alteration I consulted with the head tailor at Silhouettes and Profiles (they work for the Metropolitan Museum, Met Opera, and also NY fashion shows) to have the wedding gown fit on my body. The dress originally had a built-in corset with waist stay and padded cups but Silhouettes and Profiles reconstructed the corset and waist stay to fit better and stayed on my body throughout the day comfortably, and also added a French bustle.
I also have a cathedral-length beaded ivory veil (retail price of $677) which I wore for less than one hour and its pristine condition. I bought my wedding veil at Kleinfeld NYC in 2022. It'd be silly of me to keep just the veil. If the buyer is interested in the veil with my wedding gown, I would like to give it away with the gown.
