Voted one of the best British bridal designers by Tatler and Harper's Bazaar and quoted in Vogue's wedding trends to know if you're getting married in 2020, Hermione de Paula worked at Dior Couture, Galliano, McQueen and Giles before launching her bridal line.
After searching for weeks, I saw one of HdP's embroidered dresses on Pinterest and fell in love with her botanical, artistic, and deeply romantic designs. Everything she makes is stunning. I knew I didn't want a traditional wedding dress, and when I finally found HdP I knew it was exactly what I wanted. With that said, I didn't think I would be able to afford a couture dress. However, it turned out HdP was having a sample sale when I was visiting London, and my cousin booked me an appointment. I am so so glad that she did.
This dress is a work of art made by hand in London, and is by far the most exquisite item of clothing I have ever worn. It is absolutely gorgeous, elegant, and somehow also comfortable. Everyone was floored by it, and I still get compliments when people see pictures.
While I will be very sad to part with this dress, I hate the idea of it collecting dust in a closet for years and years when someone else could have a chance to have this very special experience. I've had it expertly dry cleaned and it is in superb condition. Please let me know if you would like to see more pictures, or to video chat and view it live, or even to arrange to try it on in person.
It is very comfortable, light and easy to wear. I was worried I would overheat because the dress has long sleeves and our wedding was in July, but I was perfectly comfortable. The train has a loop that you can hang on your finger while walking and dancing. You can also hang the loop on a button in the back of the dress, though this is discouraged because it can pull the fabric. The dress is covered in embroidered wisteria, and is perfect for a wedding in any location.
It is designed with a high neck and long sleeves. There are no cups in the dress. I wore a backless bridal bra, but some people just wear nipple covers. It has a fitted A-line skirt with a train and leg split, that one can easily adjust. I'm 5' 7'' and wore 3 inch heels. There is a nude silk lining under the skirt.
It was made to a UK standard size 10 (US size 6). The only alterations I had done were to attached the skirt to the liner in a few places. If you would like my exact measurements I can provide them.
