Elegant Simple Silk Satin Off-The-Shoulder V-Neck Pleated Ball Gown Wedding Dress
It is a classic design and shape, which is why I chose it - I wanted a timeless silhouette. The fabric is thick and lush, and therefore I was never concerned about it losing its dramatic shape. I wore it all night long, and it was great to dance in as well!
Fit and Alterations:
My size selection was 8, which was based on the following measurements:
Bust: 35
Waist: 28
Hip: 40.5
Cup size: C
Height: 5'7"
Heel height: 2"
I had the dress altered to be taken in along the back zipper from waist to neck, one inch on both sides. This alone cost $1,500. This was the cost to bring in the top part of the dress (there are two zippers, so the tailor had to effectively bring in two dresses, the lining, and the exterior) and is not included in the retail cost of the gown.
It was not hemmed, so it would fit someone 5'9" and possibly 5'10" as is. I also had silk buttons (non-functional) added to the back zipper, from waist to neck - it is a gorgeous addition to the original design.
Condition:
I wore this to my wedding only, which was indoors. I did take photos outside and there is still some dirt along the bottom hem that did not come out after professional cleaning - photos are attached. The cleaner noted that since the dress is very delicate, they do not use as aggressive methods to remove stains so the dress isn't discolored. The stains are generally within 2-3 inches from the bottom, but some go up 6 inches. If you are 5'4" with shoes, I believe the dress could be hemmed and remove any remaining blemishes, while most would be removed if you are around 5'5"-5'7". Other than the hem, I didn't notice any other discolorations, and the bodice
The dress fit me perfectly - it is very flattering if you're smaller in the waist with broader hips. I did not want to have "visible" cleavage, but you can certainly shift yourself around if that is the look you are going for. I was so pleased with this dress overall and received many compliments.
