This is a glamorous original Berta gown. The beadwork is stunning and very unique with silver tone payette, pearls and detailed lace appliques. The gown is jeweled from top to bottom and has a beaded, lace embellished train. It looks absolutely stunning in light (see videos below).
The sleeves are long and fitted and the back is open. The dress is lined. The lace is so delicate and fine netting practically invisible; because it is ivory in color, it gives a nude appearance. Cups are sewn in and a bra is not necessary.
When I bought the dress at a bridal store, I was told that it was actually designed to be an evening gown, so it could be worn again for another formal occasion. It should be noted that the dress is ivory in color and is not a traditional all-white gown.
Condition: There are a couple places where bead threads can be seen, although they are not noticeable unless examining the dress extremely closely. Included with the dress is extra fabric containing beads, which could be used for additional alterations and minor repairs in the future. The dress was a sample at the store and could no longer be purchased new due to the fact that it had been discontinued by the designer. Despite this, it was in great condition when I purchased it, and I only wore it on one occasion. I was so impressed by the magnificent design of the dress, I did not mind purchasing the sample as I knew what I had found was truly unique.
