I never in a million years thought I would wear a fit and flare gown on my wedding day because of my pear shape, but this wedding dress made me look curvy in the best possible way.
I originally asked to try this dress on because of the gorgeous side-cut outs, and I loved that there was just a little lace but not too much. This was the dress of my dreams because of the intricate details-- the tiny buttons down the skirt, the lace bodice with tendrils curling down the sides, the lace flares at the bottom-- made it special but not too busy or overwhelming. I've always loved an open-back, and this dress was no exception. I loved the train of the wedding dress, but the bustle was also stunning (and really easy for my sister to do, only five buttons).
Since we were getting married outside and by the water, I wanted something that was elegant without being formal, and this dress was absolutely perfect.
I'm not sure how it happened, but there is only one hanger strap on the inside of the bodice. Otherwise, it doesn't have any blemishes. It was professionally cleaned after my wedding.
In terms of alterations, the bodice was taken in about an inch on the left-hand side. It was shortened to brush my toes. I'm 5'6" and wore 3" heels. I had cups sewn into the bodice for more support.
Please know that this is a pure white gown, which I wore because my husband was in his white military uniform and I was worried an ivory shade would stand out.
