LOVE this dress so much! I tried on many dresses for many months before finding "the one" in this stretchy, comfortable, supportive, and beautiful dress. It's a very thick, high quality, stretchy, silky material that is truly the only comfortable dress I tried on.
It has a long beautiful train to be let out, but also a custom French bustle, with color coded threads and hooks thanks to our tailor, for an easy hook up for walking around. It has a beautiful sheen and flow, lots of back detail with the jewels and a little bit in the front between the cowl neck.
The fault I had in many months of trying on other dresses were that they were often sliding down (strapless), see through (too thin of a material), stiff or starchy boxy (unflattering when you have curves), too thin and fitted (could see your belly button and underwear), couldn't wear a bra with it (unfriendly to curvy fuller ladies) or not enough built in support (not designed with boobs in mind), boxed you out at your widest spots (boobs/butt hips), the list goes on. This one is brilliantly designed, so flattering, so comfortable, and solved for everything for me. It has structure yet flow, thick material to hold you in but stretch enough to let you move. It also has the only structural built in bra I found that actually was completely supportive and allows you to go bra free with a fuller bust if you like.
It was a size 8 and we had it tailored in slightly at the waist so was estimated a size 6 waist, so it works perfectly for curves. I'm about 5' 5" but wore it with 6 inch heels so there is room for some more height, or you could tailor it if you need less. It has a mermaid fit and flare look. The train is so elegent but not too long - just right. The bustle is beautiful and very helpful for the reception. It's a very thick and supportive silky material so not at all see through and works well with shapewear for a seamless fit. It's easy to move and dance and walk in, and easy to breathe and eat. It doesn't have a corset-y feel to it so you can fully breathe, which I felt was so important and helpful to feel free on your wedding day. Important to fully breathe!
It's slinky but statuesque, and a mix of modern, alternative, and classic, which Gemy Maalouf does so well. She's a Lebanese designer who shows often in Europe. The French boutique owners I was working with brought this back from a show in Europe and we fell in love immediately. Purchased new and worn once. Love this dress truly!
