After seven dress shops and wondering whether I would ever experience that "ahha" moment... I found this beauty. I laughed and exclaimed "wow" just as she slipped over my hips. The design is so modestly sexy and makes you feel like the woman you are! It brought tears to my eyes and I knew right then and there!
I chose to use the dropped shoulder straps for the Ceremony and replaced them with beautiful beaded spaghetti straps for the Reception. Now looking back, I kind of wish I'd worn the spaghetti straps for the Ceremony because they complimented the gown so well.
It was an outdoor wedding and I took great care of her, but naturally there are a few spots along the edges that have a bit less of a stark white finish. She has been professionally cleaned, however they left a tiny rust spot where a seamstress pin was still attached underneath the applique. I'm going to see if I can make a difference myself and update the listing after the fact.
I normally wear a dress size 0/2, but naturally the dress shop had me order an 8 for bringing down to fit. For alterations, we focused on the hem length for my natural height of 5'4" but with 3 inch heels which amounts to more of 5'6 natural height. The bust was tailored to fit a 32D/34C and the hips were slightly brought in for a loose fit for comfort on the dance floor. My natural hips were 36.5 inches. When measuring the hip line of the dress at full stretch laying flat, it reads 18.75". The straps have little hooks for attaching to the dress and the off shoulder lace straps that came attached to the dress were given removable attachment hooks for personal preference.
I was elated to find this romantic, sexy, sophisticated gown and I hope you enjoy her as much as I did.
