Flutter Lace Sleeve Wedding Gown Buttoned Down with Front Slit
From the Wild Dreamers collection, this is a positively elegant button-up silk wedding dress with flutter sleeves. The slit up the front comes to about mid-thigh, giving a little extra appeal (can be easily closed up by adding more buttons.) The low, square back gives a modern edge to an otherwise vintage-inspired wedding dress.
Oh man! I'm on the fence about selling this dress, I wish I could wear it every day!
Getting married in silk is like nothing else, I felt so elegant and natural. The dress feels lightweight, but substantial, and flows like water.
Getting married in the summer, silk was such a cooling fabric to wear. It is seriously such a polished but effortless dress. I fell in love with this dress because it was the perfect mix of things I was looking for, classic, elegant, a little modern, a little vintage, a little sexy, but not too much.
I can not talk highly enough about silk and buttons!
Alterations:
- The original had a small train, we got married outside, so to protect the condition of the dress, I had the train removed.
- I am 5'7" and wore 2 1/2" heels.
- The dress falls a couple of inches off the ground.
- I had the original shoulder straps narrowed (by folding, not by cutting,) to give the shoulder a more feminine silhouette.
- The sleeves were also brought up a little to have them fall at a more flattering place on the arm.
Condition: from the outside, this dress looks like it just came from the designer. The lining at the shoulder is a little threadbare, but that's not something you notice while wearing.
There are a couple of small runs (pictured).
We got married during COVID, so there was no dancing while in this dress :( but, that means less wear and tear!
It has been professionally cleaned and is ready to be loved by the next lucky bride 🥰
