I will remember this Christos Primrose wedding dress as my dream dress.
What drew me to the dress was the floral detailing on the tulle skirt. Hand embroidered primrose flowers in an airy organza are scattered across the skirt. Each one is embellished with a delicate crystal bead that picked up the candlelight at our reception and gave a little twinkle. I absolutely loved the dimensional texture this added to the skirt. The effect is a very romantic feel.
I also fell in love with the bodice of the dress. Christos is designed by Amsale, and her signature rouched sweetheart bustline is so feminine. The bodice has incredible internal boning for an extremely comfortable and flattering fit. A row of delicate buttons go down the back of the bodice, and a silk ribbon ties in a very sweet bow at the waist.
The dress has a slight train that added just the right amount of elegant sweep bridal drama for me as I walked down the aisle. At the reception, I used an American bustle, which showed off the skirt but allowed me to dance and enjoy the party. For me, the beautiful tulle and organiza fabric was perfect as I got married in July--the dress had the special romance of a ballgown but was light and airy and moved beautifully. I was comfortable and felt gorgeous.
The fabric is a rich white--not a true, butter cream ivory but certainly not a winter white.
All alternations were done at the Amsale flagship salon in New York. Cups were added for comfort and flattering fit.
Dry cleaning and preservations done by J Scheer- who are known for their high quality work. The dress is in excellent condition and since the cleaning, it has not be tried on.
