Elegant and romantic A-line bridal gown by premiere designer, Oscar de la Renta. It is the same base style that Anna Wintour’s daughter-in-law wore for her wedding at Anna Wintour’s house. Oscar de la Renta dresses are worn by these celebrity brides: Amal Clooney (George Clooney), Allison Williams (HBO Girls), Kate Bosworth, Jenna Bush (George W. Bush), Amanda Peet, Maggie Rizer, and Katherine Heigl.
The Oscar de la Renta “Ashton” dress is an ivory Lyon Chantilly lace tulle strapless gown. Note that this dress does not have the sleeves as pictured on the runway models.
The Ashton gown has a beautiful lace flower pattern. This dress is strapless with a bustier inside, with soft built-in bra cups.
Size: The label is size 6, which means it is bridal size 6, and it’s approximately size 2 in “street” size. It’s like a size 2 in your everyday wear.
New: This dress is new and has never been worn. Tag is still attached.
Alterations: The length of this dress is the original length, so no alterations to the length. However, the top part is taken in from the original size 6 to fit my approximate measurements (86cm bust, 73 cm waist, 86cm hip). But I never wore this dress because I still couldn’t fit it after alteration. A bustle has not yet been added.
This one of a kind dress had a retail list price of $10,290. I purchased this from a bride who ultimately decided on a different dress. She never wore this dress, and neither have I. As mentioned, tags are still attached, and dress has never been worn to an event/outdoors. Only put on to try on indoors. You can tell from the hem that it has not been worn to an event, and dragged across the floor for anything.
The actual dress for sale is the one pictured hanging underneath the staircase. All others are for on-figure examples, and they have slight variations, though they are the same base model.
