Beautiful Classic Satin Off-the-Shoulder Ball Gown Wedding Dress with Pockets
Excited to be passing on my elegant and classic wedding dress to its next happy bride. This was one of the first dresses I tried on when I was shopping, and after trying on 20+ more dresses I came back to this one. There was just that feeling inside that this was the one! And I have absolutely no regrets about it, my husband started bawling when he saw me coming down the aisle and he said he's never seen anyone so beautiful in his life! As cliche as it may sound, this dress made me feel like a bride. I am not a super fancy person, but I love this dress and feel like it matched the marriage occasion perfectly.
The design of the dress is really ingenious. There is a large elastic bra band inside the dress which holds it into place really well, I never felt it slipping or moving around. The elastic band was also nice because it's adjustable, so I didn't have to stress about gaining or losing a pound. The straps are off the shoulder and the dress was very comfortable to wear. The dress also has 2 pockets which are hidden in the side seam and came in handy, I put my wedding vows in there so I would be sure I had them when the time came. The dress also has a long train, which could be hemmed to the length of your liking if you want it shorter. If you prefer a less poofy skirt you could also remove a layer of tulle from the inside as well.
Alterations: I had the dress hemmed because it was too long originally. I am 5'2" and I wore a 2" heel. The upper portion of the dress was not altered at all. There is an elastic bra band inside the dress which fit really well (and is adjustable) so there were no alterations needed up there. Nothing has been added to this dress.
Condition: The dress has not been dry-cleaned. The satin wrinkles when folded for shipping, so the next bride will want to get it dry-cleaned before wearing it. I figured the less wear on the dress the better.
The back of the dress is lined with satin-covered buttons. One of the satin coverings came off when I was taking the dress off. Rather than trying to repair it myself, I left the covering off so a professional could do the repair and it would look perfect. There are no stains on the top portion of the dress. I didn't eat dinner or have any drinks when wearing the dress. In total I wore my dress for about 3 hours and changed into another dress after the ceremony :) On the train of the dress, there are a few blemishes. They are only noticeable upon close inspection. This would also be something a professional cleaner would likely be able to remove.
