This Inbal Dror 13-05 dress is easily becoming a classic. We had a destination wedding and this fit the theme perfectly. This would be the perfect dress for any outdoor, boho-chic ceremony. The illusion lace was what sold me on the dress initially. It's absolutely stunning and classy. And the lace is made out of fine, stretch fabric so you can sit, EAT and dance in it!
I also chose this sillouette because almost every other girl I know has been married in a traditional strapless, sweetheart mermaid dress and I really wanted something that would stand out from the crowd. This dress hit all the marks. And like you'll hear from other girls, the compliments didn't stop all night. Even the photographers and wedding planner were obsessed.
I bought this dress from a girl in San Francisco who originally bought the dress from Inbal Dror headquarters in Israel. I still have her original receipt if you want it.
I highly recommend looking up a local bridal boutique who carries Inbal and trying on the dress first to see if you like the style, then buying online. I saved almost $4000 by doing so.
The dress retails for $11,000. I paid $7,300 for it. It has only been altered once as the original girl had it made to her specifications which were almost exactly mine.
The alterations made include: lengthening the original hem by 5 inches so I could wear taller heels (the dress came with extra fabric (exactly the same) from Inbal Dror so it's all the same lace, adding B-pushup cups to the bust and some lace to cover them (they could be removed easily). My seamstress also added a 13-point French bustle which made dancing a breeze. (The picture doesn't really do the bustle justice. That was the work of my bridesmaids who had to bustle me quickly in a dark bathroom so we could go dance! When it is was bustled and fluffed by the seamstress it was much niced. But alas it is the only picture I have!)
The measurements from the dress are: (inches)
bust: 33
underbust: 30
waist: 28
hips 38
shoulder-waist: 18.2
waist-floor: 48.5
I wear a street size 4. In high end designer brands, I can wear a 6-8. I'm a 26 in most denim brands, size small in general tops and bottoms.
The dress has been professionally cleaned by the only certified Wedding Gown Specialist in Houston, TX. They do not use any harmful chemicals that might discolor wedding gowns. Since this was an outdoor wedding, there is some inevitable dirt staining of the inner hem if you look closely and fraying of some of the lace here and there (nothing that can't be fixed by a professional). Some of the beading has fallen off, but if you have seen this dress in person before, the beading is not necessary or a key component of the dress. It is sporadically glued on here and there. But there is nothing that will be obvious to the guest. It will still look stunning on and in pictures.
