Romantic Strapless Lace and Tulle Sweetheart A-Line Wedding Dress
Details: Satin pleated bodice and lightweight lace and tulle skirt, accented with a delicate Swarovski crystal embellishment at the waist.
Look and Feel: I was looking for a romantic, whimsical, with a little bit of sparkle for my dress. This dress accomplished all of those and ended up being perfect for our soft April vineyard wedding in Napa, CA. I have an hourglass shape and loved the satin and sparkly belt and corset back that cinched my waist. A simpler, smooth bodice allowed the bottom lace to shine without being too busy and gave the dress a very soft and romantic feel.
Alterations: To be exact I am between 5'4" and 5'5". I had the dress altered to just hit above the floor when I wore 3.25" heels. I selected just above the floor vs. at the floor at the front because I know I would be taking the heels off to dance, and I sure did.
So, in alterations, my height to achieve this would have been close to 5'8". I also had built-in bra cups added for a bra size 36C, a panel to help the corset tie in the back and a bustle to the back with hooks.
Condition: The dress held up very well during the wedding. The tailor did an amazing job on the bustle and it did not break. Slight fraying on the bottom lace at the train from the dance floor but no stains or tears. It was professionally cleaned after the wedding and has been stored in a garment bag in an enclosed box since.
