This dress was worn one day, and after dry cleaning, looks brand new again.
The underlay dress color is called, "light gold", but is really just a creamy white. Most "ivory" dresses are almost indistinguishable from white, but because the underlay is not the same white as the lace, the details of the lace are much more visible than on most lace dresses. Eyelash lace along the top and bottom edges, along with swiss dot lace throughout the lace overlay, are some details that make the lace top quality. The train has a beautiful design and the French bustle aligns the lace design of the rest of the dress with the lace design on the bustle.
There is a crystal-beaded ivory sash included. I liked the dress with and without the sash, so I wore the dress without the belt during the ceremony and I put it on for the reception.
The back of the dress laces up which is excellent in case your size changes between your first fitting and your wedding day. Even though I thought I had wanted a long row of buttons down the back, I am glad I had a lace-up back instead because lacing up gave me the exact right fit on the wedding day. A thick lace-up ribbon and a thin-lace up ribbon are both included with the dress, and give the back different styles. The thick ribbon is brand new, never used.
I am 5'6'' and 140 lbs, and I think a size 6 would have been even better because I used up almost all the give on the back lace-up. I am normally a size 6, so if your street size is 6, this may be a good size, but the back-lace up will be narrow. And if your street size is 8, this size will be right for you.
