Originally purchased from the Monique Lhuillier sample sale with intentions to wear to my reception, but I decided to go a different direction. This sample was customized in production by Monique Lhuillier for their LA store and unlike the runway photos, it does not have the cut outs on the sides of the gown making it (in my opinion) much more wearable and flattering.
The gown is made of beautiful lace applique and dusted tonal embellishments on chantilly lace and is lined in two light nude/blush layers of silk georgette. The gorgeous illusion neckline and low illusion back is made with "power mesh" tulle that stretches with movement and provides extra support (feels like a light, sheer spanx!). It is being sold without a sash, but was beautifully styled with one on the runway. Lace applique on the shoulders of the neckline lends the appearance of a romantic cap sleeve. The bodice is boned through the front and also has an underwire in the bust for added shape and support.
The gown is in lovely store sample condition and appears to not have been tried on much in store. There are just a few loose appliques that can be easily re-tacked in alterations. There is also a small pea size snag in the illusion neckline.
I have a list of Monique Lhuillier recommended tailors and also have a $100 gift card to J.Scheer & Co towards having the gown cleaned if you choose to do so before alterations or cleaned and preserved after the wedding.
