Elegant Simple Classic Strapless Ball Gown Wedding Dress
This dress struck me for its timelessness and simplicity. I knew I could embellish it with a belt if I wanted to or just have the pleated waist, which is how I chose to wear it in the end and focused instead on adorning my dress with a long, lace veil.
The dress fit perfectly the moment I put it on, and the only major alteration I had to make was having it shortened.
I fell in love with the sweetheart neckline, fitted waist, and flared skirt, which felt slimming and made my waist and stomach appear small without being uncomfortable. It has built-in cups, so I didn’t wear a bra, but it was so well fitted at the top that I was never worried that it would slip down or otherwise expose my bust. A line of buttons trails down the back of the dress, and those above the waist fasten over the zipper.
I chose an American bustle, and just had a reinforced button at my waist. I also chose to have some of the tulle taken out so that it was still full-bodied but not as large as a ball gown.
The dress was both elegant and comfortable. All night long I felt beautiful in my dress whether during the ceremony with the veil on or with it bustled and swishing on the dance floor at the reception. I love the dress and would wear it again if only I could!
It has been fully cleaned and there aren’t any stains but there is some discoloration on the inside of the hem that does not show on the outside.
