This stunning Galia Lahav Haute Couture gown is the Suzanne and was my DREAM wedding gown. The Suzanne features all of Galia's most iconic wedding dress statements: plunging sheer back, breathtaking train, curve-hugging trumpet fit, and hand-beaded French lace and metallic lace appliques. I felt like an absolute queen on my wedding day and received so many compliments both on my wedding day and afterward in all of my wedding pictures. (P.S. speaking of queens, did you know Beyonce recently wore a Galia Lahav Couture wedding gown for her vow renewals to Jay-Z? If you worship Queen B like I do, you will love this dress even more knowing your idol also wore this designer.) I loved my dress so much I had my amazing wedding photographer also shoot us in our wedding attire in Paris on our honeymoon (hence 2 sets of pics)!
The weight of the dress is surpringly light-weight in comparison to many other gowns similar in style and also has some stretch so it is very comfortable. With the train altered for easier bustling (without losing any of the drama of the full train for your ceremony), you can dance the night away without any of your dress getting under your feet. My husband and I did a full coordinated ballroom dance (with twists, spins, turns, and jumps) without a hitch! I posted a picture of me dancing in it so you could see how pretty it looks even bustled and also posted a picture at the cake cutting during which the dress was also bustled.
Ladies, if you aren't sure about spending up for your wedding gown, let me reassure you the Suzanne is worth every single penny. At first, I tried to buy the dress used but I could not find anything online for several months. I even tried on about 50 other dresses trying to see if there was something else that would make me feel as beautiful as the Suzanne but nothing could compare. Finally, I took the plunge and bought it full price and I do NOT regret it one bit. Even my husband, who generally has little to no opinion on style, was in love with the sexy but timeless style of the dress. I actually loved my gown so much I wasn't going to resell it but we plan to have kids soon and it will be hard to store with our new little family additions. By way of background, I am a lawyer and I live in Irvine, California. I am happily married for almost 1 year to my amazing hubby! I am 5'8" without heels and was 135 lbs on my wedding day (I actually had to eat more a couple weeks before my wedding because my dress was getting too loose).
