The dress is handmade, Phillipa Lepley and has just been RE-MADE (and so it will be as new!!) by the wonderful dress makers at Phillipa Lepley! I have just collected the remade dress from the PL shop (March 2018) so I now have the dress at my home in central London.
Sadly, a waiter spilled red wine on the floor and it subsequently got onto the train of my dress during the wedding breakfast. The catering firm has therefore had to pay to have the dress completely repaired (re-made with new satin).
The dress perfectly touched the floor and the train at the back of the dress can be bustled up ("hooked up") for dancing / walking around. The corset underneath the dress is adjustable (as it laces up the back underneath the dress). I have attached photographs and I was comfortably wearing a size 10 - 12 but the hidden corset will allow for variations in sizes. I am 5'5" and I wear a 32E bra although it is simple to add or remove cups into the corset. I wore Romy 85 Jimmy Choo heels heels on the day, which have a heel height measuring 85mm/3.3 inches. The hem could also be altered if needed and I'm sure you could discuss this plus any other alterations with Phillipa Lepley or another dressmaker should you prefer.
The dress has a Phillipa Lepley corset and then a Duchess satin bodice, skirt and train (made from one section of Duchess satin). For this reason the entire satin section (i.e. the full dress) was re-made, so the new dress is "as new" and unworn by anyone!! The original, Sophie Three Laces, top has then be reattached over the new dress. The lace top has 3 quarter length sleeves and hand made from three different laces.
I loved wearing my dress and felt so special in it! I only wore my dress for the wedding reception and breakfast, so less than 6 hours, as I changed into an evening dress after our first dance. I tried on so many dresses but the quality of the dresses, the internal corseting and craftsmanship of Phillipa Lepley really streamline your figure and their attention to detail is truly incredible!
